Runway capacity has been extended by central government to approve a further 40,000.00 flights a year at London
City Airport and a new runway at Stansted will enable the airport to handle an additional 10 million passengers which equates to an additional 10 million passengers a year. This extra capacity will alleviate air traffic congestion resulting in environmental as well as operational benefits.Heathrow is currently awaiting a decision on its plan for a third runway.
